FerieKonto

While you work as an regular employee in Denmark you will accumulate vacation days ("feriedage").

Every 1st of May of every year you have to have taken the vacation days from the previous year.
Once you terminate your collaboration with a firm, the vacation days you have accumulated and not taken will be paid to you through mail thanks to FerieKonto. You will get then a vacation certificate/voucher ("feriebevis") to fill out and send back.

It's going to be a nice surprise ... getting paid to take vacations! Sometimes the system works wonderfully.

Saadan faar du dine feriepenge
1. Skriv paa feriebeviset, hvonaar du starter ferie og hvor mange dage du holder ferie

- Det tager op til 9 arbejdsdage, fra vi faar dit feriebevis, til pengene er paa din konto
- Du kan tidligst faa dine feriepenge en maaned foer du skal holde ferie

Du skal kontakte din arbejdsgiver, hivs du mener, at antallet af feriedage er forkerte, eller at der mangler indbetaling
Hvem skal skrive dit feriebevis under?
Hvis du er i arbejde eller selvstaendig: kun dig selv

Hivs du modtager overfoerselsindkomst, skal dit feriebevis ogsaa skrives under af:
- din a-kasse, hvis du er medlem
- din bopaelskommune, hvis du ikke er medlem af a-kasse

How to get your vacation money
1. Write on the vacation certificate when you start the vacations and how many days you will take
2. Sign the vacation certificate
3. If you're working, your employer can no longer sign your vacation certificate
4. If you have no job, your vacation certificate has also to be signed by your unemployment insurance (a-kasse) or by your municipality of residence
5. Send vacation certificate to us in the enclosed envelope. Remember postage.

When will you get your vacation money?
- It takes up to nine working days after we receive your vacation certificate, until the money is in your account
- The earliest you can get your vacation money is a month before you need to take vacations

You should contact your employer if you believe that the number of holidays is wrong, or the payment is not sufficient
Who should sign your vacation certificate?
If you have a job or you're self-sustained: only yourself

If you're receiving unemployment benefit, your vacation certificate should also be signed by the:
- Your unemployment insurance (a-kasse), if you are a member
- Your residence municipality, if you're not a member of the unemployment insurance (a-kasse)

Do not write messages in the certificate since it is read mechanically
Write the first vacation day (the earliest being 01.05.2010)

-Tast foerste feriedag (fx 010512) og antal feriedage (fx 10*5=10,5 dage)

Hvonaar faar du dine feriepenge
-Der gaar hoejst 5 arbejdsdage, saa er pengene sat ind paa din NemKonto. Kontakt din bank, hvis du ikke ved, om du har en NemKonto.
-Husk, du kan tidligst faa udbetalt dine feriepenge en maaned foer din ferie.

Spend your holiday and get your holiday allowance paid

You have 0000.00 kr. in holiday allowance for the period 1 May 2012 to 30 April 2013. In order to get the money paid you must log in feriekonto.dk or call our TastSelv phone. If you choose the latter, save this letter.

You should contact your employer if you think that there are errors in the information above.

How to get your holiday allowance
-Log into the portal at www.feriekonto.dk
or
-Call TastSelv telephone on telephone number 70 11 03 03
-Enter your social security number and press your code 12345. Save the letter and keep the code safe.
-Enter the first day of vacation (eg 010512) and the number of days (eg 10*5 = 10.5 days)

When you'll get your holiday allowance
-There is need for more than 5 working days, so that the money is deposited into your NemKonto. Contact your bank if you do not know whether you have a NemKonto.
-Remember, you can get paid your holiday allowance earlier than a month before your holiday.

Be aware that FerieKonto convey information to unemployment funds and municipalities for the purpose of inspecting dobbeltforsoergelse.
