There are several mobile companies offering services in Denmark.
The main ones are TDC, Telenor, Telia and Three (3). Other (virtual operators) include Telmore and CallMe.
As you can see, apparently there must be a law that obliges phone companies to start their name with a "T" ... CallMe simply didn't get the memo.
If you want a subscription (abonnement), you should check the offers and even the mobiles you might get with the subscriptions. You might save quite a lot of money if you choose wisely. You need to be a registered citizen of Denmark, have a CPR number and a bank account to sign for a subscription.
If you want just a prepaid (rechargeable) SIM-card, then on top of the main companies you can add a few more such as Lebara, probably the cheapest in prepaid sim-card (especially if you call abroad).
Prepaid SIM-card offer particularly expensive rates for both national and international calls, and for SMS/MMS services. The credit recharge can be bought in kiosks or even in some supermarkets such as Netto.
In kiosks you usually buy a scratchcard and then you will have to follow the instructions written on it, which ask you to call a specific number and digit some codes. Scratchcards have a cost of 50-100 kr. and sometimes a slightly higher value (e.g. a 99 kr. card gets you to talk for 150 kr.).
In supermarkets you will be able to buy more credit (around 300 kr.) and a much higher valuer (e.g. 299 kr. card gets you to talk for 1000 kr.). Remember than in supermarkets usually you get the instructions and the code for getting your credit on the grocery receipt, not in the actual card!
