Active on you way to work

In Copenhagen you might exercise more than you think and the bike is not the only way to do it.

On an average, if you take your bike to the nearest metro station (5 minutes ride), you walk fast down to the train, then you walk fast up and out of the station to finally reach work (a 5 minutes walk), you will consume approximately 210 calories, the equivalent of 1200 steps. This means that just going to work and coming back home everyday will ensure 420 calories of consumption, the equivalent of 2400 steps.

If you go by bike and your workplace is approximately 5km from where you live, your consumption will be roughly 270 calories each way, 540 daily.

This is certainly not enough to keep you fit, but on average you would consume much more than people commuting by car.
