Borgerservice - citizen public services

Once you are a registered citizen in Denmark, i.e. you have a CPR number and the Sundhedskort (the yellow card), most common public services (notifying an address change, choosing a different doctor, asking for a passport or a driver license renewal, etc.) can be dealt with over the internet. To simplify things, instead of having multiple usernames and accounts for each service Denmark has decided to provide each citizen with a single form of digital identification: a NEM-ID account. To get a NEM-ID account you need to register yourself at www.nemid.nu. Once you register you will be sent a numeric card with 132 codes. You will need theses codes each time you will access a site which requires a NEM-ID. Once you will get to 20 codes, you will be automatically sent a new card to the address you have provided.
