ATP pension and social insurance

The ATP Livslang Pension is a lifelong supplementary pension. You are entitled to receive this pension when you become a pensioner, in which you will receive it for the rest of your life – no matter what age you eventually reach.

Everyone who works in Denmark pays, by law, contributions into an ATP Livslang Pension.
Therefore, you automatically pay contributions through your salary, or if you receive public benefits, a specific sum is deducted from these payments.
As a general rule, you pay a third of the amount yourself, and your employer pays the other two-thirds.

Until 2011 you would have received every year around may a letter with your pension overview for the previous year. From 2012 all info will be available only through the ATP website.

Here's your yearly overview of how much was paid into your "ATP Lifelong Pension" in 2010.
ATP is constantly working to create maximum pension value for your money. Therefore, this year is the last time you will receive this pension overview.
Starting this year you can find information about your payments to "ATP Lifelong Pension" in your annual tax statement from SKAT.
If you want to get an overall picture of how much you can expect to get when you retire, go into atp.dk. Here you can also keep track of how your retirement is evolving and you avoid the paper pile grows at home. We use less paper and postage, and that means more to the pension for you.
